Love comes softly

I would probably never stay watching this episode in the Hallmark channel if we still have the basic comcast plan (instead of what we have now - the limited basic - so we only have a few channels to worry about). It isn't a very "hollywood" movie but it is simple and meaningful and some of the lines are quite inspiring ... like some plain chicken soup without MSG.

I only watched second half of the movie and didn't know the whole story ... but there is a woman Marty who somehow got pregnant and (lost her wagon?) then stayed with a man she doesn't quite know (hmm ... sounds like I am making up the story). But anyhow she developed a good relationship with the man's daughter, despite the fact that she was raised up in city and that girl spent her whole life in a remote farm. The setting is somewhere in the Rocky mountain where you can imagine horses and cows are everywhere, basic living conditions and very very few people around.

It is all about the change of Marty's perspective of life, love and faith. She questioned about her own fate, she doubt God's faithfulness, she was annoyed by bad things that keep happening to her life and also to those people she is connected to. Many questions unanswered. One day when that man (clark?)'s barn got burnt and he lost his horses, cows etc., Marty was brought to the point that she doesn't believe in prayers (when Clark told her that everything would be fine as God always answered prayers) - then Clark brought her to Church - which is actually an open area with a breathtaking view of mountains and rivers. then ...

"the truth of God's love is not about not allowing bad things to happen, it is about the promise that He will be there when they do"

Well Marty has to go back to where she belongs, at least she thought. So she left a note (a hint) in Clark's bible and was expecting he would do something to keep her from leaving. As much as life is complicated by random instances, the note dropped on the floor from the bible ... so he sent her away to the town where Marty would take a wagon back home ...

"A woman has to be crazy to stay in this place, or, in love" - inside the wagon an woman rationalize her decision to leave. "Horrible storm ..."

Then as you might expect a man is after the woman he loves, so Clark ride his horse to catch up Marty after he finally picked up the note from under his bed - right after he knee down and prayed to God to accept that fact that He gave and He had taken away...

"There has to be a reason for me to stay" said Marty. "because I love you" said Clark. "The reason for me to stay is because I love you" said Marty.

"Sometimes love is like fireworks, but oftentimes love comes softly" ... an old lady ... don't know her relationship with Marty though.

If you are tired of watching those action intensive channels (like FX ?), this is a good one to go for.

Sleep

Hard to describe how it feels to have gone to bed before 2am first time ever since last week. Crazy schedule, tax, IVs, tests ... serious shortage of sleep really slows down my responses to the outside world - email, phone, IM, news ... But glad that finally there is a break (but next week ... who knows) and I can sleeeeeeeeep lor!!!

I love my bed, my dreams, and the time that I don't need to stare at the mon.

And thank God, all the brothers/sisters that prayed for me, and ppl who have been putting up with my slow responses :=)

Oh, it's raining again ... 100% natural background music for a good sleep.
